about highland lassie
From fishing to cruising
Highland Lassie is a sympathetic conversion of a former fishing boat built with windblown oak which follows the line of the hull giving the floating hotel a distinctive and imposing appearance. She is unique in many ways, the only fishing boat in Scotland to be decommissioned and left whole.
A piece of Scotland's history.
Gus and Gaby are superb hosts, looking after us with kindness and skill. The food cooked by Gaby is absolutely lovely and nothing is too much trouble for her. A delicious full Scottish breakfast set us up for our day.
Comfortable beds and a wonderful hot shower in our lovely cabin with a view. Cabins are well fitted out and beautifully warm. Sitting out on deck is also available. The weather was not kind but the location is fabulous with lovely walks along the tow path. We will definitely return.
As close to perfection as you can get
As close to perfection as you can get – right on the water, idyllic peaceful location and the food was wonderful. They put so much effort into sourcing the right ingredients. Gabi and Gus are a great team. This was worth every penny. Would definitely stay again.
First Class Service
Perfect hosts for a fantastic anniversary dinner and stay. Gus and Gabby saw to all our needs with exceptional attention to detail. The food was superb, the cabin was very comfortable with an unrivalled view and the dining room very welcoming…the service was first class without being intrusive, and our after dinner stroll along the canal towpath was a great conclusion.
Had this wee place recommended to us. It turned out to be a great recommendation, the food was amazing. Lovely fresh seafood is their speciality, and it was cooked to perfection. The chowder was delicious and the mixed seafood main was cooked in white wine, cream and tarragon sauce that was right up there with the tastiest I have ever had. Great service, very competitively priced and the couple who run it know what they are doing. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the Inverness area.
Gem of a Find
Perfect staycation accommodation. Just left after a long weekend on this beautiful boat. Comfy beds, good sized cabins with private access to deck and bridge/lounge, large menu choice of seafood and Scottish produce and Gaby/Gus provide a welcoming, friendly but discrete atmosphere. Nothing was a problem. Brilliant hosts and lovely people. Absolute gem of a find and we will be back.
